I was not nearly as sweet when the dog chewed holes in blankets and quilts (thinking the soft stuff he was gnawing was just another part of the bone!). I used “dog” fabric (puppy paws or pooch faces) to make my patches so everyone would know (or at least I would) how that patch came to be there.
I look forward to the repair of the polyester quilt! Wow! You ARE a brave woman.

Along with the trademark and copyright marks. I hope this deters those wanting an easy way out. Maybe go back and start with all your items and mark those? It might save future headaches.

My friend gave me a quilt much like that one, in about the same condition, to repair or do “something” with. I was planning to salvage what I could to make throw pillows. Now I will wait to see what you do with your daughter-in-law’s quilt before cutting up Marcia’s quilt. I am a relatively new quilter, so the task at hand seems quite daunting. I can hardly wait to see your progress.
