As women many (not all certainly) are engrained with such strong empathy and learning that rule to “do unto others as we would like done to ourselves” underlines that same trait. it is small wonder then, we give all we have and more to the aid of anyone or anything (animals, earth, etc) in need. The fact that it also comes with the most exhilarating side effect (how it rocks your own soul with
an abundance of feel good tingles!) makes it a potent ability that the world sorely: always needs.

I also wonder with the amount of things we deal with (as your list brilliantly states) when we reach a time that kids are gone, husbands gone, etc. In those lives with that seeming peacefulness that we feel ourselves very nearly break apart and dissolve into that chrysalis of ‘what now?’. Did we give away all our glue and now risk the collapse of our own spirits? I’m so glad “there is a quilt for that”!. xoxo
