Chawne was at the top of my list of people to meet and I found her soft spoken and funny. Her talent often takes my breath away. I also took a picture of her quilt in the small category, such small pieces. Also enjoyed listening to her on the diversity panel.

I read the article in the LA Times I think it was. Great article and very outstanding work. We need to stand up more politically. This has inspired me to try and do a piece with such emotions!

I love her work. She lives about an hour from me, in the same town my BFF lives in. I always hope to catch a peek of of her out in the world, so that I can tell her how much I admire her work. I’m glad to hear that she is as thoughtful and open as her blog portrays her!

I found both of these quilts beautiful while packing an emotional punch. As an artist who also uses words, I was naturally down to these.
Every detail in “The One for Eric” is spot on, from the color choices to the piecing to the quilting. The color change in the words, as if you can see him drowning, is just so heart wrenching. Amazingly strong work! I’m so glad I went to see the show.
