We are moving on to Rey’s legs this week! This is another easy section, nothing tricky and not even a snowball in sight! A dozen easy seams and you’ll be kicking back with your chocolate*.
Begin with cutting and laying out. If you want to get a jump on next week (Rey’s torso) cut out the three belt pieces on this page too.
Assemble these pieces in vertical rows:
Being as the strips are long-ish, take a moment to pin the ends and the centers before sewing them:
Press after sewing each strip, rather than at the end of sewing the whole section – it’s more accurate.
Finish by putting together the belt for next week:
Put the legs aside with your other pieces, but keep the belt close by for next week. Please post your progress on social media with these hashtags: #reyandbb8QAL, #reyandbb8quilt, #thedroidisnotforsaleQAL, #thedroidisnotforsalequilt.
Today’s chocolate is from Café-Tasse, small samples of Lait Noisettes/Milk Hazelnut and Noir Menthe/Dark Mint chocolates, made in Belgium. I love the idea of small samples as they’re a great way to taste the line. The milk is creamy, with a delicate hint of hazelnut. The dark mint is pleasantly strong with crunchy bits of mint, and not the least bit medicinal like some mint flavors can be.
